Let no man say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God," for God can't be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth dea...

By faith Noah, being warned about things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared a ship for the saving of his house, through which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to the place which ...

Blessed is the man who doesn't walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the way of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers; But his delight is in Yahweh's law; On his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That brings forth its fruit in its se...

The End Of The Line

  • Why is the LORD bringing us into this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will become a prey. Would it not be better for us to go back to Egypt? And they said to one another, 'Let us choose a leader and go back to Egypt.' Numbers 14:2 ESV

The Israelites were standing on the border of the land that God had promised to give them. God had done incredible signs and wonders in their lives and had just delivered them from slavery in Egypt. Now, when so close to a major breakthrough, they stubbornly refused to take the next step. They wanted to kill Moses, appoint a new leader and return to Egypt. They would do anything except what God asked them to do, and they had now reached the end of the line. They would go no further.

I have seen many people get stalled in life because they could not take that next step. While standing on the border of their own promised land, they were too terrified or stubborn to do what God asked, and they just sat there. Some of us should have left that place fifteen years ago, but we could not let it go. There are pastors in churches that should have left years ago, but they they still sit there, fossilized. God will not make you obey. He will let you die off and use your children when you refuse to take the next step.

You can break the cycle. Choose to obey the Lord's prompting; it is for your own good. Though it looks short term scary, it will be long term beneficial. Pray hard and take the risk. If you feel that you have been left behind and are no longer where you should be, repent, get up and take the next step. God will restore you and put you back on track.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, give me the grace to follow you wherever you call me. Help me to face any obstacle and stay in step with You. Let me be the one that enters the land and does not retreat, in the name of Jesus.

Thank you, Pastor Todd, for your daily messages you are so appreciated. When God promotes you He protects you. Some say, "greater levels greater devils" but I say greater angels protect the promoted.

This is encouraging, but what if you don't know where you're going or what the next step is? Or don't feel any prompting from the Holy Spirit for direction, I don't know where I'm going or what God has for me, many of my heart desires have been dashed or they just weren't God's will for me, I'm afraid to ask for anything because I don't want to be disappointed again or maybe I will just be asking for the wrong things... or maybe I just don't have enough faith? I've led people to the Lord I know God uses me to encourage them and speak into their life, I don't even go to these people, God bring them to me, especially the broken hearted it's beautiful how God uses me in their life, but yet inside my own heart I'm discouraged, and deal with my own inner brokenness especially when it comes to my life not knowing where it's heading....

As I read this, I felt that this lesson applied to me concerning my physical health; in 1979, I was paralized from the neck down, the Lord healed me & I lived an active life for 33 years or so. In the past five years, I have been more & more inactive. I have had physical problems that contributed to my situation, but, I have to admit that I choose more & more to just sit. My muscles have atrophied in my legs, and now, I need to take the step, need to obey the Lords prompting...it is for my own good. And the short term is scary as I fear falling. I know long term it will be beneficial. I need/have to take the risk if I am ever going to strengthen my legs & with God's help, I can face any obstacle...have a prescription to start physical therapy. Scary? Yes. I know there will be pain as I do whatever it takes. Your words about feeling left behind, is a big part of my depression. So, I have a viscious cycle of Weakness-Inactivity-More weakness-Just sitting there becoming fossilized-Depressed-on & on...

It is time for me to obey His prompting. To take the next step. Have faith that He will restore me & put me back on track! Hope this makes sense.

Thank You Pastor Dion for this devotional. I went through a lot in the past and it was very hard for me to let go of the past. Some days I found myself in tears because I was so afraid to take the next step. Some how I survived and was able to notice for my self that I needed to let go of my past failures. It is still hard for me to let go of the past, but I am working on it. Pray fully things will get better and I can make it to the next level in life.

Praise God!  Good morning!  Thanks Pastor Todd!  Lord, Please forgive me for being too afraid to take that next step toward what you have for me.  I have used all types of excuses, but it all really boils down to doubt and fear.  Lord, help my unbelief!  In Jesus' Name.  Amen.
