And the LORD appointed a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the belly of the fish, saying, I called out to the LORD, out of my distress, and he answered me Jonah 1:16 ESV
Sitting in the black darkness all alone, Jonah contemplated his situation from the inside of a great fish. The Lord had told him to go preach, but Jonah decided to do something else entirely, and went the other way. In time, his past caught up with him and swallowed him alive. Now it looked like the end. He had disobeyed, and this was his punishment. He deserved it, it is over, 'bout as well lay down and die.
Then some spark of hope arose in Jonah, as his life was fainting away (2:7) he prayed to the Lord and God changed his circumstances. God spoke to the fish and it took Jonah back to the land and spit him out. Peter thought that he had wrecked his life as well when he denied even knowing the Lord Jesus three times in one night (Mark 14:72), but the Lord restored him.
I am not saying that sin and running away from God is alright. I am saying that with a simple prayer, you can make it right. Sometimes when we run from God, He will allow us to hit rock bottom. Then when we turn to Him, He will help us. It is never too late, because God's love has no limits. It is never too late, because when you hit rock bottom, He can restore you just as He did Jonah, Peter and me.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, pick me up when I fall. Blow your breath on the fire within me and cause me to stand firm on Your word, in the name of Jesus I pray.
Yes Lord, I want to fulfil the calling you gave me, in Jesus name I pray, amen.

Amen Pastor! Over my 65 years I have been there a few times and He welcomed me back immediately! Never left my side even as I ignored and defied Him. What a Savior!! Hallelejah!! Another good word.
Amen He will always forgive a repentent sinner.
This was awesome and so true. When I stopped running from God, he showed up and showed out in my life. Even when things do go wrong, as sometimes they do in life, HE is the one who ends up setting things right again. It is almost like when you fall as a child and your parent picks you up and dusts you off and sets you on your way again. That is what God does for us if we keep our trust and faith in HIM.
Amen Pastor, I been trough this situation several times and I have recovered again after I summit to our Mighty God once again.Praise the Lord.
We all fall. Thank you God for your discipline.
