Yahweh opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?" Balaam said to the donkey, "Because you have mocked me, I wish there were a sword in my hand, for now I would have killed you." The donkey said to Balaam, "Am I not yo...

Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of his chariots, saying, "Don't fight with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel." Hidden Springs

  • God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. She went, filled the bottle with water, and gave the boy drink. Genesis 21:19 WEB

Hours went by while I struggled with a bug in the annoying computer program, until I finally gave up and walked out to get away from it for a bit. Why did this have to be so difficult, I thought. This should have been a ten minute job, but I have spent all day on it. All out of ideas, I sat down and prayed for a few minutes. Suddenly, I knew exactly what the problem was. In just a few minutes I had isolated the bug, fixed it and everything was fine.

My problem was not what I did not have, it was what I did not know. With God's people, this is always the case. It is not what you do not have, it is what you don't know. No amount of tools or resources will fix what you don't know. What makes it difficult is that we don't even know what we don't know.

God can bring you the answer and once you have it, you will no longer have the problem. Hagar and her son were thirsting to death in the desert, when God opened her eyes to see a hidden spring of water near her.

The Lord said: 'My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge' (Hosea 4:6). James wrote: 'But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him' (James 1:5).

God has came to my rescue so many times when I did not know what to do, when I just take the time to ask Him. Joshua and the Israelites became bound by a treaty with the enemy because they did not inquire of the Lord first (Joshua 9:14).

When you are tempted to say, 'if only I had'' get somewhere quiet, calm your mind, and pray that God will reveal what you may be missing. You already have more than you think, but so often we cannot see it until the Lord reveals it.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please open my eyes to see the resources around me what You have already provided. I know in my heart that You are the answer, for all wisdom, knowledge and resources are under Your control. Please share them with me today, in the name of Jesus of Jesus Christ I pray.

Amen . Whenever a problem arises going to prayer brings the solution. He gives us the wisdom to remedy it ourselves or He remedies it without our doing anything. Our problem is either we do no know or we do not remember to prayer first about everything and then let God do what He loves to do, let Him help us.

Amen, Carol! It's true, if we pray late, He will still be there for us, but we save ourselves a lot of pain when we pray first!

Lord, you know my situation concerning the funds that were stolen from me, Lord you know my present situation and I trust that all the solutions are with you and things will be resolved at your appointed time. Amne! Thank you Pastor Dion for todays devotion. :-)  Prayer is always the answer to everything if we could just slow down and remember that at all times. I pray that over me when in trouble or stuck on something and you keep thinking about it. STOP and pray. I pray in Jesus, name. Amen <3

Thank you, Lord for always being the answer and forgive me for not always realizing it. Please remove the blinders from my eyes and help me to seek you first and foremost for all my needs. Help me to give all that concerns me to you and not to lose focus. Thank you, Lord, for promising to be my biggest ally in this troubling world. May I reach out to you and not all the other things I am prone to do. By God's grace, miracles still happen!

It's a shame that we often go to God in prayer as a last resort. In the public school system (I'm a retired teacher), children are taught in all grade levels to be independent and use their problem solving skills.  It becomes a lifestyle.  Oh that we may all know The Truth...Simply seek God first and ask Him for wisdom.  Another great Devotion!
