Then Mordecai asked them to return this answer to Esther: "Don't think to yourself that you will escape in the king's house any more than all the Jews. For if you remain silent now, then relief and deliverance will come to the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Who...

In the same hour, the fingers of a man's hand came out and wrote near the lamp stand on the plaster of the wall of the king's palace. The king saw the part of the hand that wrote. Then the king's face was changed in him, and his thoughts troubled him; and the joints of his thighs were loosened, and ...

One of the criminals who was hanged insulted him, saying, "If you are the Christ, save yourself and us!" But the other answered, and rebuking him said, "Don't you even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward for our deeds, but this ma...

The Beaver Dam

  • Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalms 23:4 WEB

It was dusk dark and I was alone in the middle of a swamp called the Beaver Dam. I had ridden my dirt bike over to my cousin's house that day. He stayed about four miles from us through dense woods and swamp. We had made a path to ride through the beaver dam to each others house.

We were both about ten years old and after playing video games all evening, I realized it was getting dark and I had no headlight, so I started home. Riding through the swamp on a motorcycle at night alone with no lights was scary, but I soon found it could be made much worse.

There were bears in the area and I could feel one behind me. I kept glancing back into the shadows and would give the bike more throttle each time. Before long I was almost wide open on the muddy, rutted path and forgot all about the canal ditch that I had to soon cross.

I hit the far side of that ditch at about fifty mph and launched way into the air. As the bike and I were flipping end over end, I was already kicking it to get it restarted. I landed in a huge pile of mud, rolled a few times, and took straight back off. I don't believe the wheels ever stopped turning. I was so terrified that my life was flashing before my eyes, but I ended up making it home safely.

You can make a bad situation, so much worse than it really is. The more that you dwell on it, think about it, talk about it, the more that it will grow, until it will consume you in pure panic. That was the most scared that I have ever been in my life and it was all in my mind. I would have been perfectly safe to have stopped, built a fire, and spent the night camping. Don't let your fears snowball and consume you. Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Never allow circumstances to deceive you into believing that God has forgotten you.

What you feed will grow, and what you starve, will die.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray that You cover me with Your peace, fill me with Your Spirit, and remove the fear and anxiety from me. Lead me into living a truly victorious life, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray

Amen Pastor Dion. Many times the things that we fear never come to pass. They are simply our minds jumping to bad conclusions. This is when we must realize that our God is watching over us and that we must have faith in Him and have no fear or anxious thoughts. We must simply pray more, worry less. We are called to be anxious in nothing! The only way to do that is with prayer, supplication and thanksgiving. Then we will experience the peace which is beyond our understanding through Christ Jesus.

LOL! Reading this, I just remembered as a kid, jumping off my bed as far as I could jump, and then heart thumping wildly, grab the door knob and get out my room as soon as humanly possible. I was sure that whatever monster that was under my bed was right behind me, and ALMOST had me in His grasp! Again, We love you man! Thanks for sharing your Wonderful life stories with us :)

Did you watch animated Monsters Inc?  The litte girl loves her monster Boo Kitty.  We have it for our Grandchildren & it is funny.  Love the small funny clip of bird comedy in beginning & the end funny called "Mike's Car".  LOL

LOVE that movie. I guess I love all the Disney Movies(Or was that Pixar?). I bet the world would be much happier with more feel good movies.  In the interest of being honest, I have to admit I love Action Movies as well. The "Bang Bang Shoot 'em up" War flicks are hard to beat as well :)

Norm, if you mean "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang", then me too :D! Actually, while, I'm not into the shoot-em-up part as much, I like the themes in "old school" war movies of honor, self-sacrifice, of serving and something greater than ourselves, values that serve us well in His Kingdom!

OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST said that " do not be anxious of anything" for it will not add an inch to our life.  When fear comes to me, I pray, pray and pray until the fear goes away and remember what OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST preaches.  Trust the LORD OUR GOD for everything is in the palms of HIS HANDS.  HE will take care and be in charge of everything. I love you and trust you LORD GOD with all my heart.  Thank you so much for everything for you are always here with me.  In the name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST I pray and thank you.  Amen

Sometimes, I think God sends angels to watch over kids--and if we're lucky, those angels never leave us, even after we're grown!
