He went out, bearing his cross, to the place called 'The Place of a Skull', which is called in Hebrew, 'Golgotha', where they crucified him, and with him two others, on either side one, and Jesus in the middle. Pilate wrote a title also, and put it on the cross. There was written, 'JESUS OF NAZARETH...

When the Grace is Gone

  • Jacob saw the expression on Laban's face, and, behold, it was not toward him as before. Yahweh said to Jacob, 'Return to the land of your fathers, and to your relatives, and I will be with you.' Genesis 31:2 WEB

Things were beginning to be difficult for Jacob where he worked. The Lord had certainly put him there, prospered him greatly and he had become wealthy. Up until then, his father-in-law had always treated him with favor. Now there was a distance between them, strife, and a growing distrust. Laban had changed Jacob's wages ten times (Genesis 31:7). Though each time Laban tried to pay Jacob less, God would reverse the expected outcome. Then the Lord told Jacob, 'Return home and I will be with you.'

I have been in a work place where I knew that God had put me there. At first it was very easy and graceful, but eventually the grace lifted. It became difficult, there was a growing distrust, and each change that came was always for the worse. In time, the Lord told me to leave, though at the time I had nowhere to go. It was just a leap of faith. This I have learned:

'When the grace is gone, it is time to move on.'

Sometimes when it becomes time to move, God will allow things to become difficult, and then a door opens where we should go. It can all seem so natural, but it is God behind the scenes moving people to where they need to be. Not every difficult situation is to be left; some of the worst ones I had to endure. There were three points in this story: 1) Jacob had gotten uncomfortable. 2) He was able to leave. 3) He felt that he heard the Lord say go.

Anytime that you have to make a big decision, pray and listen for the Lord's voice. Jesus said, "My sheep hear My voice.' Ask the Lord to make it an easy decision and to close the doors that you should stay out of. Change brings new and exciting things and it is necessary for us to move forward. If you do not change directions, you will end up exactly where you are headed. So be sure that is where you want to go.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You all that You have done for me. I want You to be a part of my life and to guide me. Speak to me in a way that I understand and give me direction. Help me make Godly decisions, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

I have found the easiest decisions have come by the hand of God. When He opened a door that I never attempted to open, I knew it was His divine intervention. He was putting me on a different path, so choosing that path was easy. Other times when my husband and I endeavored to do something different, I had doubts until it began to prosper. Even with fervent prayer sometimes it is hard to choose the right way to go. Yet when we make the wrong choice soon we find out that we are on the wrong path.

First day of teaching class for the 2016 school year and everything I study this morning focuses on obedience, listening, accountability and remaining faithful. The Lord knows I need truth repeated many times to incorporate it into my being. Thank you, Pastor Dion, for sharing God's truth!

I always pray that OUR LORD GOD give my son knowledge, wisdom and a sound mind in doing his work.  That OUR LORD GOD give him a beautiful heart and a GOD loving heart to discern all the things that our LORD GOD plans for him and to obey HIM and to follow HIM.  Please LORD GOD Let thy HOLY SPIRIT be always with him and in him to guide and protect him and to help him do all the plans that GOD have for him and he is going to follow, obey and do them all for the glory of LORD GOD.  In the name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.  Amen

I remember this in a halfway house I worked in for women out of prison....in the office I experienced this presence of God.  Felt a chg was coming.  It closed down for lack of funds.  Tried to continue to visit ladies at prison & it was like working against something & then knowledge there was no roof over me...God made known to stop there also.  A great experience working with the ladies.  Hear from some wjo are on right track with Christ.  Many are cal yet few come... paraphrase by Me...
