Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin, yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won't he much more clot...

The disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit. Acts 13:52 WEBWhile at the beach one day, I watched some kids playing with a beach ball. They would hit the ball and it would soar into the air, but then gradually float back down to the earth. Without some form of lift, the ball will alwa...

The Journey from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about the journey of life. Our thinking is often consumed with what is happening today, or tomorrow, or sometimes what happened yesterday. God thinks in the long term. He can see our entire life at once. Think of it like t...

Lost And Found

  • Yahweh's angel found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain on the way to Shur. He said, 'Hagar, Sarai's servant, where did you come from? Where are you going?' She said, 'I am fleeing from the face of my mistress Sarai.' Genesis 16:7 WEB

Hagar wandered alone in the desert. She had always done what she was told, but now it had become too much and she had ran from the painful life that she knew. She was pregnant, having to care for herself, and far away from where she should have been in life.

Hagar means 'a stranger; one that fears.' She was an outsider in her own house. The Angel of the Lord found her lost in the desert and told her to return and submit because God had plans for her and her unborn child.

Even when she did everything wrong, God found her and took care of her. God spoke of her future and took her mind off the pain in her past. She broke down and called the Lord, 'You are the God who sees me.' Each time I have messed up and later returned to the Lord in prayer, He spoke about the future, not about the past.

If you miss the Lord, He will find you. We often worry too much and ask, 'Is this what God wants me to do?' until we get paralyzed and do nothing at all. You cannot steer a car that is not moving, but once it starts moving, then you can correct its course.

When we get stalled in life, we pray and then try and make the best decision. Sometimes it ends with, 'Lord, unless you tell us no, then we are going to do this.' When you get off course, He will bring you back with a word (Isaiah 30:21).

If you feel that the Lord wants you do something but you have been held back because you may be wrong, or you have run away from it, know that He will always find you. The Lord seeks out those that are lost.

Prayer: Father I thank You for forgiveness. Help me get back on my feet and give me the grace to stand strong for I cannot do this without You. I give you permission to pull me back up and push me forward when I stall. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Wow..and I was just praying last night before I went to sleep and told the Lord I felt lost.  I do not know what He wants me to do, so I just keep on doing what I'm doing.  Thank you for this today, I feel like it helps clarify things for me.

Amen Pastor Dion. I don't think there is a Christian alive or that every lived in perfect confidence that they were hearing Him and doing everything as He wished. I think we all get lost sometimes. The easiest way to finding our way is through Him. When we feel stuck in neutral and lost, if we seek Him He will come in and give that transmission a bit of fluid, repair the leak in the line, replace the seals or give it a complete overhaul. One way or another he will get us moving again. We just need to come to Him and ask for His help.

Thankful that I have a God who sees me!  I was alone in my first marriage with a toddler, a full time job, etc. with no help from my ex husband.  My car broke down one morning and I was crying out to the Lord that I am so alone and tired and have no help and He spoke to me and said "I AM YOUR HUSBAND."

Thanks for these words, Pastor Dion.  I am trying to move forward, but want to be sure this is what God wants me to do, as opposed to what I THINK it is what He wants.  However, I don't want to stand still if what I feel in my heart is what He put there.  I am asking fort he Holy Spirit to guide me.
