In Chapter 21 of the Book of Revelation, written by John - the Beloved Apostle, we are told of a unique heavenly City which is established on the Earth during a time in Man's History ... yet to come.
In Verse 23 we discover that this 'city', which is actually more in size as that of a Continent .. has no 'need' of the light of the Sun. Neither does it 'need' the light of the Moon.
Sometimes people learn to take a bit of something here and a bit of something there and build an entire scene out of 2 or 3 bits of information. This, of course, is not an honest method for model building or for the study of Scripture.
Because of this many often misquote this portion of John's writing and build a case that the Sun and Moon are no longer in existence at this time in History to come. But ... This is NOT what we just read in the text. Again it says that:
"And the city had no NEED of the sun, nor of the moon, that they might shine in it."
The Cosmic Heavens are still in existence for at least 1,000 more years from the establishment of this Holy and Great City, which is set up during what is called: The Millennial Reign of Christ Jesus.
The Sun, Moon, and Stars were affected earlier during the time preceding this Historic Reign when they were 'struck' thereby effecting a change in the actual length of an Earth Day.
The New Scientific Discovery of how Black Holes, when one falls into another, causes 'gravitational waves' which warp time in small but measurable amounts - only hint at the possible source of this unusual condition that occurs during a very specific time period.
God has it all planned. Every detail will happen precisely as He said it will. The fact that mankind has not yet understood all of what is 'out there' only accentuates our need to Trust in this Great Creator who loves you and me so much.
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. KJV.
