Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of his chariots, saying, "Don't fight with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel." When the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said, "It is the king of Israel!" Therefore they turned around to fight against him. But Jehoshap...

For Dreamers!

  • So many of us have them; it may be a Preacher scratching out a church with his bare hands; it may be a missionary trying to reach a jungle tribe with the power of Jesus Christ; it may be a Songwriter trying to dig deep for that "Amazing Grace" song that will be remembered and sung forever; it may be a novelist who wants to write "that" book that goes to No. 1; it may be one who wants that business that's always been lurking in the mind and heart; it may be that invention that will revolutionize humanity ...

They lurk in the hearts of trailblazers who are always looking for a "break" and an explosion of victory for that misty dusty trail that keeps them awake, keeps them jotting down elusive ideas, keeps them staring off into space with a smile, keeps them somewhat of a loner as they build, build, build that thing that won't leave them alone, that intruder in the deep exciting thoughts that won't go away, that strange, but welcome imaginary friend that won't stop nudging them, that thing that has life but doesn't live, that thing that is lodged in the depths of the soul and is called ... "THE DREAM!"

Like a willow in the wind, bend me; like a treasure in Your hand, spend me ... The song of humility, the soul cry of one who has nothing but Jesus, the tearful pleas of the Dreamer, the Seeing eyes of the Visionary, the ...

Have you ever witnessed the Pleasure & Pride that suddenly ignites in the voice and eyes of a Person who gathers mere scraps of material - and somehow, with much Practice and Patience, constructs a magnificent Tapestry of Immense Beauty?

The Designer of such a thing as this can't help but be filled with an overflowing expression of Joy as though the project had appeared from 'Nothing' and had suddenly become a bewildering 'Thing' of Wonder!

I know of Artists who would find themselves sitting before a canvas, nearly bored ... Who were 'caught away' as though mesmerized, only to awaken hours later with a Work that seemed to come out of 'Nowhere'.

It is the same for a Writer. Into which comes an inspiration never considered before ... and then ... it is all he can do to keep up with the unfolding of a Script that appears moving towards him with just enough time and energy to transmit it from mere thought to paper. In its' simplest form, Inspiration becomes the simple art of taking dictation.

How is it that a Man or a Woman can suddenly become overwhelmed with a single thought that either advances upward with a rapidity and empowerment that is astounding ... or ... moves thunderously across a level plain gathering volume, density, and substance?

I believe that it is because of God's Creative Characteristics which are instilled with Mankind. For God Created a Physical World from the substance of mere 'words'. Similarly, the Creatures of His Creation are enabled by free will and choice to use this 'gifting' for Good or for Evil purposes. And for whichever path they so choose - they must one day give an account.

Yes ... Allow yourself to be 'inspired' ... but allow also that inspiration to complement the Creator and His purposes. For You and I were made in His Image and in His Likeness.

Job 11:7 Can you solve the mysteries of God? Can you discover everything about the Almighty? NLT.
