Faith and works

If we have been saved by grace through faith, and not by works and if faith without works is dead, does this mean that we need to have a balance between faith and works?

For me, the focus is on striving to have the heart of Christ. In focusing to think. act, and react as HE did will, through HIS permeating my very being through the Holy Spirit,  bring me to a place where works are correctly positioned in CONTEXT to my faith and Yahweh's purpose for me.

I wouldn't say so much "balance" in the same way, for instance, that a person might try to balance work and family, that is something that is generally separate and compete for the same time slots. Instead, perhaps consider that one flows out of the other. If your faith is true, that your works will reflect that. In other words, your life will be a mirror of your faith :)
