God's Will

How does one ask the Lord to align them with His will or to ask Him to inact His will in their life? Is there some proper way to do this? I see posts all the time and I've even posted images of posts with this message here on RHM saying that prayer is about asking God to align us with His will rather than asking Him to be aligned with ours.  And the Lord's prayer speaks about this also "Your kingdom come, your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven..." So, how then does one pray properly and pray for the Lord's will to be inacted in their life?

You pretty much covered it with "Your will be done". That is the entire concept in a nutshell. Not what I will, but what You will. We often pray like this: "Lord, we want to do this, but if it is not Your will, then we want what You want. May Your will be done." We have had Him close doors shortly after praying. Jesus gave us an example prayer to go by:

    Luke 11:2–4 (NKJV)

So He said to them, “When you pray, say:

    Our Father in heaven,

    Hallowed be Your name.

    Your kingdom come.

    Your will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.

3 Give us day by day our daily bread.

4 And forgive us our sins,

For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.

And do not lead us into temptation,

But deliver us from the evil one.”
