"Thou Shalt Not Kill"

This is an interesting question we received in our email that I thought might interest others :): "Does thou shalt not kill also pertain to killing bees or bugs? The bees have been really bad here this year im not allergic to them but getting stung is not a favorite thing for me either".

I will post Dion's answer after this, but as always, we welcome other thoughts, too!

Thank you for writing. No, it does not. It is referring to killing another human as I understand it. They were practicing animal sacrifice at the time and eating bulls, birds, and sheep. Even the passover involved killing a lamb.

We have two bug lights in the yard, a screened in porch, and I kill any pests that invade our property without remorse. Including, but not limited to: Snakes, mice, wasps, bees, spiders, bugs, flies, gnats, pretty much anything smaller than me is in trouble if it invades our home.
