Love in Action

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, just like I have loved you; that you also love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:34 WEB

At the last supper, Jesus rose and washed the disciples feet. Then He told them to love one another, just as He had loved them. By this all people would know that they were His disciples.

His love was love in action, and not just words. We are to show our love by serving each other. When people see you do this, it means more than mere words can say. Our actions speak louder than words, and people don't care how much know, until they know how much you care.

Love others as God loves us. Forgive others, and God will forgive us. Even in the model prayer Jesus said 'Forgive us our sins, For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us' (Luke 11:4). Keep it in balance, because that does not mean that you are a doormat for someone that is trying to manipulate you.

Be kind. Be loving. Be gentle. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If you get the chance to simply open the door for someone today, then do it. You can make the world a slightly better place to live and be a powerful witness, without opening your mouth.

Prayer: Heavenly Father please help me show Your love on the earth today. Give me the grace to endure whatever I face with a smile, because I am walking under Your power. Not my own. Speak through me, heal through me, and when people meet me, let them meet You. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
