Event Details

  • It's almost summer and a great time to work on intentional fitness! Keeping ourselves active is one of the things only WE can do to steward the bodies that God has given us. The challenge for this month is to exercise at least 30 minutes a day (you can break it up into segments, if needed) for five days a week. That leaves a day of rest and a day for unexpected interruptions. I encourage you to post what you are doing each day for accountability and to motivate the group. Let's challenge ourselves, work on getting our heart rates up and build strength for a lifetime of better health!

Hi all! Knocked out my 30 mins this morning with treadmill, ab roller push ups and weights. This combo seems to do well for times when my sciatica has been flaring up a bit, like this week .

Sylvia Todd Nice, Chris, and basketball is certainly a fun way to get in some workout time . I'm not sure I've experienced that with the appetite, but it's possible that my workout is not hardcore enough, in fact very likely ;-). Where I've tried to make the change...  more

Chris Dibbern Yup the curbed appetite doesn't happen for me unless what I've done is high-intensity and aerobic. Lifting either does nothing or boosts my appetite, I am not sure. Basketball on Saturday was enough to curb my appetite, though, and it was fun! I love...  more

Sylvia Todd Sounds like a lot of fun! I used to love playing basketball when I was a kid, like before junior high. At about that point, I seemed to have stopped growing and everyone else shot ahead (I'm barely 5'2" now ). It was a sad time, lol.

Today I kept simple: a little plyo and a lot of stretching, at the gym. :-) My back was feeling a bit out of whack, so I made sure to do some planks, too, after the stretching.

Chris Dibbern Yes, planks are supposed to be great, if you hold them long enough (even just a minute). If you get bored, you can switch between elbow and hand planks every so often, or even switch constantly, one hand at a time. Or, switch to side planks. :-) Super...  more
