Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it to his brothers, and they hated him all the more. He said to them, 'Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: for, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and behold, your sheaves came around, and bowe...

He took a towel, and wrapped a towel around his waist. Then he poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him. Then he came to Simon Peter. He said to him, 'Lord, do you wash my feet?' Jesus answered him, 'You don't kno...

How To Be A Christian In Everyday Life

  • PSALM 5:3
My voice You shall hear in the morning, oh Lord; In the morning I will direct it to you and I will look up…

First thing, get your relationship right with the LORD…get back on track….get back to your Bible reading, get back into church…fill your day with things of GOD….

Ok there you have it…first thing in the morning…not in the afternoon, not in the evening, but in the morning…Seek the LORD first thing….I know some of you are not morning people, some stumble out of bed, roll down the stairs to your first cup of coffee…some it may take hours for you to wake up, but GOD wants you first thing..so how do you do that?

I have a few helpful things for you to ponder on…see if any work for you…

Before you get out of bed, as you lay there for a moment and wonder if your body will make it out of bed, ask the LORD to help you…first thing, bring HIM into your day…before your feet hit the floor…this will take practice, but try it…if you only wake up to an alarm, and you need your glasses to see, on and INDEX card, write ‘GOOD MORNING LORD” and put it under your glasses so you can’t miss it…or, on an index card, tape it to your mirror as you look into it and see your hair all over the place..the point is here, to get into the habit of bringing GOD into your morning first thing…

Ok you say, how in the world do I keep GOD in front of me all day, when my feet hit the office it is go, go, and the people around me are negative, and my boss is hard to get along with, or I'm the only Christian in my office…

GET THEE BEHIND ME SATAN is one of tools to use in a negative atmosphere….Satan knows what bothers you so counter act it with Christ likeness…Take your index cards you used for your GOOD MORNING LORD and make up some helpful sayings for your space. You could use your favorite scripture. Keep your bible, or an extra bible in your drawer…Put a wallpaper on your computer screen that reflects something of GOD…If you have a radio, or can play cd’s at your desk, then find the Christian station, or your favorite group….this will keep you reflecting on GOD…Keep these in your car too. Turn off the news, GOD has all that under control…no worries. If you begin your day with GOD, and keep things around you during your day and at the end of your day, then you would have spent your day reflecting on GOD…

Pray for your boss, be kind, and don’t talk about them behind there back…GOD hears you, but so does Satan….Satan can make you even more miserable keeping you from the right relationship with GOD….

If you get a break, go outside for a few minutes, and look up into the sky, and surrender the next 15 minutes the HIM. Ask HIM to help you make it to lunch time…at lunch time, step out again, ask HIM to help you make it to your 3:00 break… At your 3:00 break, ask GOD to help you make it to 5:00pm..

What if your office has those that use the Lords name in vane….hum…Pray for that person, and cover yourself in prayer and ask GOD to keep you from saying those words in a fit of anger…Satan has no trouble having you recall what you heard…

It would be so easy to have a great relationship with the Lord if you did not have to work outside the home, if you could work in the church office, or such ,on a daily basis…if you were home, you could read your bible at leisure, or do a bible search…You could host bible studies in your home…you could have a great relationship with the Lord if only…………………..

My friends, welcome to the real world…

We can still have a great relationship with the LORD no matter what your circumstance is….YOU HAVE TO WANT IT badly enough for you to put HIM first in your life..

This will take practice, practice praying, practice reading your bible, making time for HIM putting HIM first above all other things….WHEN YOU STAND BEFORE THE LORD ONE DAY, YOU WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR WHAT YOU DID AND DID NOT DO..

I’m sorry Lord, the kids were unruly I just did not have the time..
I’m sorry Lord, my job just wore me out
I’m sorry Lord the people in my life keep me away from you
I’m sorry Lord, I did not like the church I was going to
    I’m sorry Lord………………………………..................

You certainly can add to this list of why you are away from the Lord. The point is your life, as a Christian, as a Child OF God, is a journey….trials and tribulations will come ….how will you handle them is the test…

If you have been away from GOD for a while, I assure you Satan will be at your heals, he will throw all kinds of things at you to keep you away from GOD….he will have you drop your silverware drawer on the floor so those profanities can fall out of your mouth that you heard in the office the other day…

He will have you scream at your kids because they spilt there milk ..Do not be fooled…Satan can hear you, and he knows what you are thinking through your actions so be very careful…

You can defeat him by realizing he is biting you, tell him to get behind you….apologize to the LORD as quickly as possible to keep your relationship right …if you are memorizing scripture, you can throw that at Satan too…SATAN KNOWS THE WORD TOO……These scriptures are your tools to fight Satan and his demons…

If you are a child of GOD today, I encourage you to get back to the LORD…Ask GOD to show you what you need to do get back to his loving arms..

I do not care what you have done in your life, no matter how little, or how big or how bad some things have been or are in your life…we serve a GOD of forgiveness, it is yours for the asking….

Satan would have you live in fear, and would tell you that what you have done is unforgivable …

ALL THINGS ARE FORGIVABLE TO THE GOD WE SERVE….

Find someone you trust and ask them to pray for you…read the devotionals daily for encouragement. GOD speaks to you in many ways….Through your Bible reading, through music, through devotionals, through other people, through nature…are you listening ??

THIS IS THE DAY THAT THE LORD HAS MADE , I WILL REJOYCE AND BE GLAD IN IT…SMILE , YOU ARE SO LOVED BY GOD…

Leslie McLea Thank you Dianna and David. I have been going through my old stories that I wrote, This one I wrote on August 4, 2010. I have over 140 written over these last few years. I am going through them one by one and correcting errors, LOL that I  missed last time, might still be a few I missed. I try to find a photo that when you see it, then read the story/message, that you will be able to remember it better because of it. I like visuals.

Carol Policastro I feel lately that satan has been attacking my family from all sides and I will begin to say emphatically - satan GET BEHIND ME.  And, moving forward, the first cup of coffee will have to wait until after my knees hit the floor!  Thank you again for guiding us in how to put Jesus first in EVERYTHING!!   I may be 66, but it is never too late to learn.

Leslie McLea Carol, we are all in a continual refining process you are not alone in this. The enemy does not want us to succeed. If he can twart us from others when we were supposed to help them for Gods glory and we dont, then the enemy suceeds in some way. But know this some times, when we say no, God says yes and not even the enemy can stand in the way when God wants something done. God knows our hearts. Just remember the saints of old, Moses did not go into the promise land in the end, but GOD took him all for himself. David, a man after God's own heart, a murder and adulterier, through Davids line, Jesus came, so when the enemy saught to distroy Gods plan, God had a plan A, B, and C and in that C, the Christ was born. We will never be perfect this side of heaven, but we can know for sure, God knows our hearts, and our desire to serve him. All we need to do is Believe, stand on what we Believe and who we Beleive in. I love the Scripture that says; NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER !  Thank you carol for sahring your heart in your reply.   Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall riseagainst thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.
