Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6 WEB"God is great, God is good, let us thank Him for our food. By His hands we all are fed, give us Lord our daily bread, Amen....

Now the Philistines had taken God's ark, and they brought it from Ebenezer to Ashdod. The Philistines took God's ark, and brought it into the house of Dagon and set it by Dagon. The Pursuit of Happiness

  • I love those who love Me. Those who seek me diligently will find Me. Proverbs 8:17 WEB

I came out of my prayer room that morning feeling like I was walking on a cloud with tears of joy in my eyes. If you would have told me that the world was getting ready to explode, I would have said, 'Let 'er blow!', because I truly did not have a care in the world. An hour earlier, I felt like the weight of the world was on my shoulders and I had too many problems to even start the day. I did not even want to get out of bed, but felt like rolling over and covering my head with a pillow.

Scripture reads: "You shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart' (Jeremiah 29:13). 'But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul' (Deuteronomy 4:29). So I say to you: 'Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you' (Luke 11:9).

When you spend quiet time with the Lord, He will reveal new things to you, and take worrisome things off of you. Jesus sometimes spent the night alone in prayer (Luke 6:12). I know that Hebrews 13:5 tells us that 'He will never leave nor forsake you' and that is true, but there is a whole new level of living when you actively seek Him out. There is a level of joy, peace, love, and trust that nothing on earth can give you except the Lord's presence. True happiness is not found anywhere else.

I encourage you today to stir up your relationship and actively pursue knowing the Lord Jesus. Spend some quiet time talking with Him, and invite the Holy Spirit to help you. Read or listen to the Bible for a while after praying. Building your relationship with Him is the ultimate pursuit of happiness and will unlock doors you never dreamed were there.

Prayer: Heavenly Father I pray that You draw my heart to You. Make what is important to You, important to me and let me see through Your eyes. Remove the things that hold me back, give me a clear vision, and a gentle push to get started. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land" (2 Chron 7:14). Amen thank you pastor Dion for this morning devotion. You are right that true happiness is found only in Jesus and not the care of this world. Dear God please help me to find and pursue true happiness in you in you alone.

Great reminder to be actively seeking the Lord...that is why we have the word see King; a promise from the Father that if (I say again if) we seek Him, we will find Him

I'm confident you are not alone, Linda! None of us are as good as we could be - life can be distracting, even with the best of activities!
