Irrevocable

Romans 11:27-32: And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins. As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies on your account; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, for God's gift's and his call are irrevocable.

In estate planning, the irrevocable trust is one of the most effective ways to pass along wealth, property, rights and whatever gifts the owner wishes to pass along to their beneficiaries. The irrevocable trust is iron clad, and it cannot be changed, modified, or altered in any way ever, without the beneficiary's permission.
The purpose in estate planning is to avoid taxes on the holder of the original asset. With this arrangement, the Grantor ( the one with all the assets passing them on to the beneficiary) must be sure about their wishes, and regardless of what the beneficiary does, once it is in place it can never be changed.
The beneficiary has no requirement to perform in any way. This is called a unilateral contract in which the only party that has to perform is the Grantor.
This is the same with our relationship with our trust. God the Father is our Grantor, He is the one who has given us Jesus in trust. Our account is clear, and we can never lose the gifts nor the call that come from Jesus, regardless of our performance. It is the grace of God that we have this gift because we are the heirs (Galatians 4:7) through Jesus. He did this so that we may experience His unending mercy, because of our disobedience (Romans 11:32). You see we sometimes get caught up in whether or not we are good enough to receive the gifts of God, yet that is not the truth. This is so liberating in the knowledge of that through His love we are free to receive all gifts that flow from Him as all good and perfect gifts come from Him ( James 1:17).
Does this mean that we have license to sin, or to be a reckless beneficiary? No, that is not what I am saying. What it means is that since we are heirs, and have this perfect irrevocable gift, that we are strengthened in our belief. And since we are true heirs, we no longer walk around desiring anything other than a closeness with the one who gives this amazing gift! Why? Because as a beneficiary, we have access to all those gifts, so striving is eliminated altogether. No longer do we have to go to the Father pleading for something that we don't have access to. We are no longer slaves, but sons and daughters. All that the Father has given us is for us to enjoy and be a part of freely, aside from our good deeds, works, or right living. The result is that through His love, grace, and mercy, we are free to be who we are as sons and daughters. As we move along in that knowledge, we become deeper in our faith, and our trust in Him. As we grow in that faith and trust, we no longer look to do anything other than the call on our lives. As we move into that call on our lives we become mature, and as we mature, we receive more. The result is through Him we live right, not on our own power which is temporary and revocable. Think about it. People who start a diet in January, based on what their will power almost always fail by swimsuit season. According to a recent study sponsored by Stanford University, 95% of people who try to crash diet fail.
The reason is that it is not sustainable. We can do things on our own power for a short period of time, but when we start to fail, based on our own expectations, the snowball effect takes place. This can be hard to control which is my point. God knows all those stats, and so He sent Jesus to relieve us from our striving. When we know that it is not on our shoulders, we can be free in allowing Jesus to take control of our lives. When we do, He makes the changes in us freely. The result is being right through Him and not living right through ourselves. We will become healthy, free of sin, fear, poverty, sickness through Him, yet it is our choice to receive this gift.
Like in estate planning, the only one who can change the terms of the covenant are the beneficiaries. If we believe the lie of the enemy that tells us that we can do it on our own and don't need Jesus, then the irrevocable gifts from our Father are of no use to us. Believe the truth and be set free!
